NEW DELHI: Union home minister Amit Shah on Wednesday inaugurated an exhibition of 76 paintings depicting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public life at the National Museum in New Delhi.

Titled ‘Mann Ki Baat’, the exhibition features works by artist Manjit Singh and has been organised by the World Punjabi Organisation.

Speaking at the event, Rajya Sabha MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney called for Modi to be awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour, in recognition of his service to the nation.

“The Prime Minister’s 25 years of public service represent an extraordinary journey of commitment to the nation,” Sahney said.

“In recognition of his dedication and unconditional service to Bharat, I believe Shri Narendra Modi Ji deserves the highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna,” he added.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu also attended the programme.

Shah and Sandhu toured the exhibition and watched a short film on the Prime Minister’s public life.

Sahney thanked Manjit Singh for portraying the exhibition’s theme through his paintings, while Shah felicitated the artist at the event.
