Bollywood composer Shashwat Sachdev is steadily making inroads into Telugu cinema. After making his Tollywood debut with the much-anticipated The India House, he is reportedly in talks for several other Telugu projects, including Dragon, starring Jr NTR and directed by Prashanth Neel.
“He is definitely in touch with the makers of Dragon, and discussions are underway,” says a source, adding that Sachdev could be part of a few more big-ticket Telugu films.
However, producer Abhishek Agarwal, who is introducing the Dhurandhar composer to Telugu cinema with The India House, is hopeful that Sachdev will collaborate with more Telugu filmmakers. “I don’t know much about his future projects, but I certainly wish he does more Telugu films and enriches the musical landscape of our industry,” he says.
The producer is particularly impressed with Sachdev’s versatility and musical sensibilities in the four songs composed for The India House, featuring Nikhil Siddhartha and Sai Manjrekar. “Having worked with him, I have realised his true potential. He is an absolute powerhouse of talent. I have known him even before Dhurandhar, but got the opportunity to work with him only now,” he adds.
