Significant Increase in SSC and Intermediate Pass Percentage

Hyderabad:Pass percentages in both SSC and intermediate examinations conducted by the Telangana Open School Society (TOSS) rose this year, with 72 per cent of SSC candidates and 68.70 per cent of intermediate candidates clearing the exams conducted in April and May.

TOSS said web memoranda of marks will be available from June 4. Applications for recounting and re-verification cum supply of photocopies of valued answer scripts can be submitted between June 2 and 7 through the TOSS website or Mee-Seva centres.

The results released on Saturday showed that 26,542 of the 36,863 SSC candidates who appeared for the examinations passed, taking the overall pass percentage to 72 per cent. The figure stood at 57.6 per cent last year. Intermediate pass percentage rose from 59.77 per cent last year to 68.70 per cent, with 37,562 of the 54,679 candidates declared successful.

Girls outperformed boys in both courses. SSC pass percentage stood at 77.88 per cent for girls and 66.41 per cent for boys. Intermediate results showed 73.76 per cent of girls passing compared to 63.90 per cent of boys.

District-wise figures showed wide variations across the state. Wanaparthy recorded the highest SSC pass percentage at 94.63 per cent, followed by Jayashankar Bhupalpally (92.09), Mahbubabad (91.72) and Mulugu (90.62). Rajanna Sircilla reported the lowest SSC pass percentage at 13.93 per cent.

Mulugu topped the state in intermediate results with 81.66 per cent, narrowly ahead of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri (81.61), Jayashankar Bhupalpally (81.51) and Kamareddy (81.36). Hyderabad recorded the lowest intermediate pass percentage at 47.07 per cent.

Hyderabad accounted for the largest number of candidates in both examinations. SSC saw 7,611 candidates appear and 4,239 pass, resulting in a pass percentage of 55.70 per cent. Intermediate examinations had 7,685 candidates, of whom 3,617 cleared the tests.
