Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the Sai Krishna disappearance case registered at Krishna Lanka Police Station. The case involves allegations of illegal detention, custodial torture, murder and destruction of evidence against suspended SHO Nagaraju.
Acting on a proposal by the DGP, the government formed the SIT with officers from outside the NTR Police Commissionerate to ensure a fair and transparent investigation. The team is headed by IG (Law and Order) M. Ravi Prakash, with SPs Adnan Nayeem Asmi and Amit Bardar, and Additional SP L. Sudhakar as members.
The SIT has been given powers to seek additional manpower, technical and forensic support. All departments and agencies have been directed to cooperate with the team for an expeditious probe.
Meanwhile, investigation teams have been questioning task force and Krishnalanka police personnel over the past two days. Statements are being recorded using the ‘e-Sakshya’ tool to ensure transparency and prevent tampering of evidence.
