Sophie Turner is a hair color chameleon. When we first met the star as Sansa Stark in HBO’s Game of Thrones, she had dark, auburn red hair. In the years since, Turner has ping-ponged between shades, effortlessly changing it up from blonde to red to brunette and back again. And while she’s definitely been a part of Team Brunette in the past, Turner is currently sporting the darkest, deepest shade she’s ever worn.
Turner doesn’t often attend red carpet events, so it was fun to see her at the 70th Ballon D’Or Ceremony in London. The first thing we noticed, of course, was her hair color: an ultra-rich, shiny, nearly black brunette, landing somewhere on the spectrum between espresso and ink. Ribbons of a lighter whiskey brown were woven through the mid-lengths to break up the dark base and give it extra dimension, and the finish was so shiny you could practically see your reflection in it. Her hair, which is also the longest we’ve seen it in quite awhile, was styled in easy waves to enhance the highlights.
