One of the members of the Sort Your Life Out team has spoken about what it was like when she first met Stacey Solomon, long before the iconic BBC show became popular

Sort Your Life Out star Dilly Carter has admitted she was slightly taken aback when she first met former X Factor star turned TV presenter Stacey Solomon.

Dilly, who hosts the Sort Your Life Out Unpacked podcast, was speaking to Stacey on the podcast about a number of topics, including her home life.

The podcast is an extension of the popular BBC show, which is reportedly due to return for a seventh series.

At one point, Dilly got onto the topic of how the pair met, and what it was like for her. Becoming very emotive about the subject, Dilly said she was astounded at what her first meeting with Stacey felt like.

She recalled: “I remember when we first met and they had this idea about this show, and they’re like, ‘You’re going to go and meet Stacey, a guy called Iwan [Carrington] and a guy called Rob [Bent] and we’re going to meet in this pub in Essex’.

“When I first met you I thought, ‘Oh my God’, when we left, it felt like we’d known each other for over 20 years within five minutes.”

She added: “I think that’s the loveliest thing about you, when you’re with you, it feels like you’ve known you forever and you have such a lovely aura about you, and you’re just you, and I love it. I mean I think this show has been the best thing that’s ever happened to me because I met you, and it’s been lovely.”

Stacey’s appearance on the podcast comes following reports that filming has wrapped on the seventh season, five years after Sort Your Life Out launched in 2021.

This sits alongside Stacey’s other project, reality TV show Stacey & Joe, which is a fly-on-the-wall BBC documentary series about her life with her husband Joe Swash and their five children.

Stacey & Joe has also been earmarked for a third series. In a joint statement about the move, Joe and Stacey said: “If you watched the first series, you’ll know we’ve been talking about the lakes for ages… it feels a bit surreal to finally see it coming to life.

“With the juggle of family life thrown in, we’re learning as we go, so we’ll be just as surprised as everyone else to see how it all unfolds

“A huge thank you to everyone who has watched Stacey and Joe so far. We are so grateful and can’t wait fore you to watch this next series.”

Joe himself is also rumoured to be returning to the UK’s screens, as he’s been tipped to appear on Celebrity Race Across the World with his son Harry, 19, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend Emma Sophocleous.
