Spice Girl Mel C has married her partner Chris Dingwall in a stunning Lake District ceremony, with her bandmates watching on at the intimate event

Spice Girl Mel C has married her partner Chris Dingwall in a stunning Lake District ceremony. The Mirror exclusively revealed that the popstar is set to marry her partner this weekend in a luxurious wedding, with her bandmates Geri Horner, Mel B and Emma Bunton in attendance. Victoria Beckham was not in attendance as she is at the World Cup in the United States with her husband, David.

But she was still reportedly a big part of her pal’s special day, designing Mel’s backless floor-length wedding gown. And the intimate occasion is said to have been the “perfect” ceremony for the happy couple.

Mel’s daughter Scarlett, 17, from her relationship with property developer Thomas Starr, reportedly acted as a bridesmaid. However, there was almost a calamity at the ceremony.

The Mail reports that a herd of cows from a nearby farm ran towards the Georgian venue while the duo exchanged their vows. It’s thought the moment left guests “alarmed”.

But everything went smoothly and was said to have been very classy. Mel and Australian model and screenwriter Chris went public with their romance in 2024 after matching on celebrity app Raya. The pair’s wedding comes after the singer famously vowed for years that she would never get hitched.

“All the girls are thrilled for her….they are all so excited. They have never seen her so happy,” a source told us of the nuptials. Her bandmates are “all absolutely over the moon” about her tying the knot. Mel had previously said how she and Chris got on so well as they shared “similar personalities and lifestyles”.

“Not long into making the record, I met somebody new, I fell in love, and so I ended up having this wonderful arc of emotions throughout the album – of heartbreak and then that excitement of a new relationship,” she shared of her album Sweat. “He’s very laid-back. He’s loads of fun…we work out together. We have very similar personalities and lifestyles.”

Mel feels lucky that Chris can join her on the road as he can do his job from anywhere. “Rather than separating work and life, I enjoy them both together, which has been a big shift. I think that really happened after I met my partner, Chris,” she explained.

“He’s able to travel with me a lot. He’s a screenwriter so he can work from anywhere, and that usually means with me, which is good for me. It’s so beautiful to be able to enjoy the life I have with the person I love.”

Earlier this year, Mel hinted that she would consider marrying Chris after years of deciding it wasn’t for her. She said: “You know what? It’s something I didn’t think would be part of my story. But I’m so happy with Chris. Maybe it is something that will be in my life. I just think, just do all the things. Do you know what I mean? Have all the experiences.”

Speaking about how they met, she added: “Nobody knows this but we actually met on Raya … Yeah, it can work people! I don’t know how much I should divulge. I was in a relationship previously and you know sometimes you get to the end of a relationship and first of all, you’re like: ‘I never want to meet anyone ever again and that’s it.

“It’s just me and my girl [daughter Scarlett] and that’s it. It’s us against the world‘, which it still is. But then you get to this point and it’s usually on a drunken night out with female friends and it’s like: ‘You gotta get back out there! You gotta start dating!’ “So that’s when the Raya profile was set up.”
