Jools Holland reunites with Squeeze on Sunday’s Later… with Jools Holland for the first time since 1990. They play Squeeze’s 1978 debut single Take Me I’m Yours and Jools chats to the band’s songwriters and guitarists Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook.
Jools, then 15, formed Squeeze in 1974 with Glenn and Chris. He left in 1980 but returned in 1985 for a five-year stint. Among Squeeze’s numerous hits are Up the Junction, Cool for Cats, Labelled With Love and Pulling Mussels.

Jools says: “I loved hearing all these songs because I mean, you have a catalogue of extraordinary songs. Everybody’s covered your songs and they range from songs – to put it simply – are like ones that Burt Bacharach might have written, or ones that might have been written for sort of a rock and roll band.”
On Sunday, Jools also welcomes ex-One Direction singer Niall Horan, making his debut on the show. Niall performs two songs, the title track from his forthcoming fourth album Dinner Party and gives a world premiere of Tastes So Good from the same album.
