After winning over audiences with comedy-centric films such as Samajavaragamana and Single, young actor Sree Vishnu is now set to explore a completely different side with his upcoming film Comrade Kalyan. The actor plays a comrade in the action entertainer, which is set against an intriguing period backdrop and blends action with romance, emotion and humour.

“It will be a completely different role for Sree Vishnu and will showcase his fiery side. The film has an intriguing period backdrop and combines action with romance and emotion,” says a source.

Sree Vishnu appears in a rugged comrade avatar, dressed in dark green and sporting a red scarf. He is seen walking through a forest with a rifle slung over his shoulder. The poster also features Satya and Mukku Avinash alongside him as fellow comrades. While the armed characters establish the serious backdrop of the story, their cheerful expressions hint that the film will balance its intense action with humour and lighter moments.

Set against the Andhra-Odisha border in 1992, the film features Mahima Nambiar as the female lead. Following the positive response to the title glimpse and the first two singles, the makers have now announced a major update regarding the film’s release date.

For Sree Vishnu, who has often tickled the funny bones of audiences with his comic timing and distinctive sense of humour, taking on a serious and purposeful character marks a new challenge.

“It is a new challenge for Sree Vishnu, and he is confident of impressing Telugu audiences with this serious role,” adds the source.
