Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) Commissioner, G Srijana on Thursday joined the Chief Commissioner, Greater Bengaluru Authority, and the Commissioner, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, for a discussion on the capacity and future of urban public transport at the Mobility Symposium 2026 in Bengaluru.
The conversation brought together experiences on buses, metro integration, walking and cycling, and first- and last-mile connectivity — but more importantly, on how these need to work as parts of one connected journey rather than as separate systems.
For rapidly growing cities, the challenge is not only to add more transport infrastructure, but to make the everyday journey between home, work and other destinations more reliable, accessible and resilient.
A useful exchange of experiences and perspectives on what it will take to build public transport capacity that keeps pace with growing cities.
