Four persons died on the spot after an ambulance hit a stationary lorry on the highway near Oranduru near Srikalahasti. Two others, who suffered injuries in the accident, were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The accident occurred when a patient from Kolkata was being shifted in an ambulance. The lorry was parked beside the highway and ambulance crashed into it from behind. Police said there were six persons, along with the driver, in the ambulance.
