Stacey Solomon has given fans a fresh look at her new Essex mansion, while giving an insight into how she plans to completely transform the stunning property
Stacey Solomon has revealed her plans to transform her new Essex mansion. Earlier this month, the telly star revealed that she and her family were moving out of their “forever home”, Pickle Cottage, in favour of a new life.
The Mirror later revealed that Stacey, 36, had parted with more than £2million for her new family home in her home county. Stacey is no stranger to letting fans in on her life, often documenting her home renovations and plans for her millions of online followers.
And her new home renovation project is no different, as she disclosed plans to completely renovate her home office. Prior to this, Stacey had never had an office at her home, apart from her shed.
Taking to Instagram, the star who found fame on The X Factor said: “So welcome to the office. I have never had an office inside of my house in Pickle Cottage. I made the shed my office, so this is so cool.
“They left these giant wardrobes and I’m not mad about it. This plug on the floor situation needs to change, but I really love the wardrobes. I feel like I could upcycle them.
“The fireplace-they’ve got this weird stone thing in front of it. Like I’d love to open it up, but I wonder why they’ve done that as well. You just think what’s behind the fireplace. It freaks me out a little bit.” TV star Stacey went on to add: “All the coving and skirtings I love and I want to keep.
“I absolutely love the lights. Is that weird? Like I love these old-fashioned industrial lights. Like I almost want to centre this room around the lighting that’s already here.”
The renovations at her new home have started at the top because the water tanks were unsafe and had to be replaced. “It meant that we needed to like do quite a lot of demolition up the top,” Stacey commented, adding: “So I thought, right, that’s where we’ll start on the decorating side.
“So we’ve pulled everything out, got the baths, the sinks, and all of that stuff out of the bathrooms, and I cleaned up the orange bath set.”
Reflecting on the response she received when she shared the giant orange bath, she went on to say: “Now I know most of you were like, ‘Ew, ew! You can’t keep the old orange bath. It’s gross,’ but I just there’s something about it that I really quite like and I’m going to show you tomorrow, clean it all up, try and bring it back to life.
“I also don’t love the idea of just like getting rid of something that’s perfectly good. I feel like I can make it into something like I could go with a whole orange theme in there.”
Stacey’s sons, Zachary, 18, Leighton, 14, and Rex, seven, are sleeping in the same room downstairs, while their bedrooms are being renovated. However, she added that she believes her sons are “enjoying” being together in the same room and often chatting throughout the night.
Stacey is said to have had money knocked off the asking price of her new home. The new property comes with eight bedrooms and six reception rooms, giving the family more than enough space for each member to spread out and have their own dedicated area.
