Nellore: The 13th state-level men’s and women’s beach kabaddi championship began on a grand note at Duvvuru village in Sangam mandal on Wednesday, with participation from across Andhra Pradesh.
Hundreds of male and female players representing all 26 districts of the state have taken part in the four-day tournament. The championship is being organised under the supervision of a 15-member technical committee to ensure smooth conduct of matches.
Rajya Sabha member Beeda Mastan Rao and TD leader Anam Kaivalya Reddy attended the inaugural ceremony and formally launched the event by lighting the sports torch.
Duvvuru village witnessed a festive atmosphere as players, officials, and representatives of state and district Kabaddi associations gathered for the opening ceremony. The tournament is expected to feature competitive matches and highlight emerging Kabaddi talent from across the state.
