WARANGAL: Former deputy chief minister and Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari has said a dedicated dialysis unit would be established at the local area hospital within the next 15 days.
He stated this after inaugurating a newly installed X-ray unit worth ₹25 lakh at the hospital in the constituency in Jangaon district on Wednesday.
The MLA noted that X-ray units were available in almost all other constituency hospitals while Station Ghanpur had been lacking one. After taking the issue to the government’s notice, the funds were sanctioned for this purpose.
“Locals will no longer have to travel long distances for their basic diagnostic requirements,” he said and urged the public to make full use of the new facility.
Referring to the long-term healthcare needs of the region, Srihari stated that the construction of a 100-bed hospital, sanctioned at a cost of ₹45 crore, was progressing. He set a deadline of December 31, 2026, for its completion. This, he said, would be a New Year’s gift to the people.
On the dialysis unit, the MLA explained that a previously sanctioned unit had been shifted to Zaffergadh due to the lack of allied facilities at the area hospital. However, with the return of the Aarogyasri CEO from election duties in West Bengal, the new unit in Ghanpur would be operational within a fortnight.
He also confirmed that medical equipment for the operation theatre has arrived and steps were being taken to make the facility functional immediately.
The MLA advised the hospital staff and local authorities to maintain hygiene standards. He asked the municipal chairman and commissioner to ensure the hospital premises remained clean.
He mandated that the doctors and medical staff must be available 24/7 to treat the patients, warning that any negligence would be reported to the district collector.
Looking to the future of medical education in the area, Srihari expressed his plans to introduce MLT (Medical Lab Technology) and ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife) courses at the Government Junior College this academic year. This would provide local students with vocational training opportunities and create a skilled workforce that can train directly at the local hospital.
