As per the report, she didn’t want the kid near the “Hollywood scene”. The court document obtained by the publication stated that Steve complained about his ex-wife’s decision to deny his request.
Steve Burton claimed that his ex-wife, Sheree Gustin, refused to let their daughter, Brooklyn, join him despite him being nominated at the awards. In an alleged text conversation between the couple, Steve wrote, “I would like Brook there. Let me know. Thanks. I would pick her up Friday morning and take her back Saturday.” However, Sheree denied him, saying, “That doesn’t work.”

“Once in a lifetime lol? I don’t want Brooklyn anywhere near Hollywood or that scene. You plaster her on social media and People magazine enough. Absolutely not.”
In the same conversation, Steve Burton further responded by saying that he wants his girls with him. She went on to slam Sheree Gustin, alleging that she seemed comfortable with the entertainment world and his career when she was with him. He even told his ex-wife that her entire business was built on social media. He concluded the text explaining that he just wants his daughter there. He was quoted as saying:
“Yes. I’m nominated and would like the girls with me. For years you were perfectly comfortable with the lifestyle that came from my career in that world. And even now, your whole business is built from social media, which includes Brooklyn a lot. And it’s not about us plastering Brooklyn all over Hollywood. I’m nominated, and I would love for her to be there with us.”
According to the reports, Sheree Gustin seems not to have replied to the text. The publication previously reported that she and Steve Burton have been going back and forth for months about their daughter Brooklyn, including a dispute as to whether she should live in California or Tennessee. Steve and Sheree were married for 23 years before splitting in 2022.
