Storage Wars star Darrell Sheets’ cause of death has been revealed after he died at the age of 67.

The reality TV star was a favourite on the show and had earned the nickname “The Gambler” for his risky purchases. He was popular with viewers, who loved his huge gambles on the popular US TV show.

Officers responded to a report of a deceased person at his home in the early hours of one Wednesday morning last month. Sadly, Sheets was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a release, the Lake Havasu Police Department in Arizona said: “On April 22, 2026, at approximately 0200 hours, officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the 1500 block of Chandler Drive in reference to a reported deceased individual.

“Upon arrival, officers located a male subject who suffered from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The male was pronounced deceased on scene and the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit was notified and responded to the scene to assume the investigation.”

It went on: “The body was ultimately turned over to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s office for further investigation. The male subject has been identified as Darrell Sheets, a 67-year-old resident of Lake Havasu City and Darrell’s family has been notified.”

Now, the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office in Arizona has ruled his death as a suicide, according to TMZ.

Sheets had been open about his health and in a post on Instagram in 2019, he revealed he had suffered a ‘mild heart attack.’ He said: “Well here we go I wasn’t going to say anything, but you all have been the greatest friends and fans.

“I’ve been very sick for 3 months and two nights ago I had a mild heart attack. Found out I have congestive heart failure and a severe issue going on with my lungs. Today I am having surgery so all your prayers would be deeply appreciated.”

Following his surgery, he added: “I was a closet diabetic that would eat whatever I wanted and masked it with diabetic pills, I’m paying the price. I beg all of my friends, fans, and family to really pay attention to your health, I have survived many things in the last 31-and-a-half years and I will survive this but it is a huge life change and had I watched it and took care of it, I would not be in this position.”
