The pair faced harsh criticism and landed eighth on the leader board for the quickstep to Bruno Mars’ ‘I Just Might’.

Fans are pointing the finger at Maddie.
One wrote online, “The blame definitely lies with Maddie/whoever choreographed – he can only dance what he’s given and he danced that very well.” Another added, “I do wonder how he would have done with another pro.“
One chimed in with, “And this is where an experienced pro gets it right for their celeb if you compare it to John and Katya’s dance.” And it continued, “The blame should be on Maddie, it definitely wasn’t the right time or place for his moves.”
It wasn’t all bad, some fans defended Maddie writing, “I think some people are being a bit too harsh on saying Maddie should go.”
Although the judges were unanimous in their feedback. Craig was characteristically harsh, he said, “The whole point of this is that you’re learning a new genre of dance. So I’m finding it really difficult to actually judge that. The posture wasn’t great, the frame wasn’t great.”
Shirley Ballas ‘absolutely agreed’ with him as did Motsi Mabuse.
