Strictly Come Dancing host Josh Widdicombe has complained about the hotel room he has been given, admitting he is struggling to relax because people can see straight into it.
The comedian, 43, took to Instagram on Friday to share his frustrations about staying in a ground-floor room overlooking a car park, revealing he has been forced to keep the curtains closed to protect his privacy.
In a video, Josh – who lives in Devon – joked that his current accommodation was far from the glamorous life people might imagine comes with working in showbiz.
“A brief update on my brilliant life. Ground floor hotel room. It’s just incredibly stressful, who’s this [driving past] I could have been nude. I’ve got to have a shower in a minute,” he said.
He continued: “I basically have to have the curtains closed at all times, like I’m recovering from a breakup and lying in bed. I just don’t want to be nude in front of other people. Is that too much to ask? This is no life.”
Captioning the post, he added: “The showbiz dream continues.”
It is not known whether Josh was staying at the hotel ahead of Strictly rehearsals. The comedian lives in Exeter and travels to London for work.
His complaint comes as he settles into his new role on the BBC dance competition, where he presents alongside Emma Willis and former professional dancer Johannes Radebe.
The trio took over hosting duties from Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman when the latest series launched, but their new presenting arrangement has faced criticism from some longtime viewers.
Josh and Emma have been presenting on the dance floor, while Johannes has taken up position in the area known as the Clauditorium, where contestants and their professional partners gather after performing.
Some viewers have questioned why the arrangement has not been changed following complaints that Josh appeared to be left out of the action.
Taking to X, one viewer wrote: “They’ve not changed the presenting situation then.” Another commented: “Josh is downstairs. They haven’t listened.”
A third said they wanted to see Josh and Johannes presenting together upstairs, while another suggested the hosts should swap roles between weeks.
Despite the criticism, some viewers have started warming to Josh’s presenting style, while Johannes has also received praise for his work as a host.
The latest episode saw the celebrities take on Movie Week, performing routines inspired by films including The Devil Wears Prada , Mary Poppins and Zootropolis .
Australian singer Delta Goodrem and her professional partner Kai Widdrington topped the combined leaderboard with 59 points after the scores from the first two weeks were added together.
