
VIJAYAWADA: Students and youth participated in a bandh in Vijayawada on Friday, demanding the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET UG-2026 paper leak.
The protest was held as part of a nationwide agitation, with students from several educational institutions observing the bandh.
Addressing the protesters, SFI state secretary K. Prasanna Kumar criticised the Centre’s handling of the protests and alleged that the future of lakhs of students had been put at risk. He reiterated the demand for Pradhan’s resignation and said the agitation would continue in phases until the minister stepped down.
AISF state president Valaraju condemned the alleged use of tear gas by Delhi Police against students participating in the “Chalo Parliament” protest.
AIYF state president Santosh and leaders of other student organisations said they would continue their agitation despite police action.
Later, police stopped the protesters when they attempted to lay siege to Lok Bhavan.
