Karimnagar: Sudden heavy rain disrupted normal life in Karimnagar town on Sunday afternoon, with several low-lying areas inundated and traffic affected.
The rain, which lasted for about an hour from 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm, caused drains to overflow in several localities.
Drainage and flood water entered low-lying areas, while roads near Town-II police station, the Collectorate and other places were inundated.
Traffic police diverted vehicles through alternate routes as flood water flowed onto the main roads. TGSRTC buses bound for Sircilla were also diverted after water accumulated on the Karimnagar-Vemulawada road.
Several parts of divisions 34 and 38 and other localities were affected by the drainage and flood water.
