At just 14-years-old, he originally went by ‘Mr Torturer’, however after a fellow music collaborator refused to shout out ‘Mr Torturer on a track’, they came up with a fresh name by taking the concept of “pain” (derived from torture) and pairing it with the letter “T” to represent Tallahassee.
T-Pain, whose real name is Faheem Rashad Najm, has remained deeply connected to his origins.
