The veteran actor Nana Patekar’s passing left many in shock. He was in Goa, where he took his last breath. Reportedly, Nana Patekar called his friend when he felt discomfort. However, his friend received the message late and reached his place at around 4 in the morning on October 8, 2026. He took Nana Patekar to Manipal Hospital, where he was declared dead at around 5:30.

As per Hindu beliefs, when a person dies, he/she is given due respect, and no bad words are spoken about them, as they believe the soul meets God, ‘aatma ka parmatma se milan’. However, Tanushree Dutta’s careless remark on Nana Patekar’s passing left many hurt. 

Tanushree took to her Instagram Stories, and without naming anyone, she reacted to Nana Patekar’s death. She shared that she had heard the news, but it is her workday, and she is heading to Lucknow. However, Tanushree’s remark, ‘Evil Dead,’ before giving condolences to his family left everyone shocked. She said:

“Main ne suna hai, I have heard the news. I just.. Today is my work day I am going to lucknwo for an event what an odd day to all this to happen. I had my entire day planned out; I need to post content, do a live. But now I am worried in the evening, it will be all media will be interested in. Evil Dead, so I will share my reaction once I figure out what it is. Definitely condolences to the family.”

Tanushree’s statement sparked outrage on X. One user commented, “I knew Tanushree Dutta is evil and ill-minded. She is mocking Nana Patekar’s death by saying ‘evil dead.’ Check her Instagram profile; she is begging for attention. Failed women step on men to move up.”

Another one wrote, “Tanushree Dutta ko aaj fir aise nahi bolna chahiye jab wo chale gaye hai.” A third user commented, “Tanushree Dutta had zero proof, zero support, and only allegations. Her supporters may keep saying and barking, but that doesn’t change the fact that Nana ji was innocent and was acquitted by the court. We hope you find peace wherever you are, Nana Sahab. Another netizen penned, “Shameless people celebrating a legend’s death. FYI, Nana Patekar was cleared by the court. Tanushree Dutta did not get anything. You, fake feminists, are the reason no one trusts real victims anymore.”

For the unversed, Tanushree Dutta levied serious accusations against Nana Patekar of harassing her on the sets of the film Horn Ok Pleassss. She also brought the incident up again in 2018. 

All About Nana Patekar’s passing

Nana Patekar passed away at his Goa residence on October 8, 2026, at the age of 75. As per reports, he was feeling unwell and had pain on the left side of his chest at around 2:30 a.m. He was rushed to Manipal Hospital at around 4:20 a.m., where doctors tried to save him, but he was declared dead at approximately 5:20 a.m.

According to Dr. Shekhar Salkar, Nana messaged his friend around 2:30 a.m. that he was feeling unwell. However, the friend saw the message later and reached Nana Patekar’s home at around 4 a.m., where he found Nana sweating and gasping for breath. He was then taken to the hospital, and despite CPR attempts, doctors were unable to save him.
