Intense security including National Guard and NYPD were seen at Madison Square Garden in preparation for the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce in New York

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are getting ready for the wedding of the year – and the huge preparation is now under way. The lavish ceremony is just days away as showbiz royalty get set to descend on the iconic venue.

The blockbuster bash has been firmly kept under wraps, apart from the alleged date and location. And now, with the July 3 ceremony edging closer, lavish new accessories, as well as intense numbers of security teams were seen being transported to the huge New York venue.

Snaps taken outside the venue showed that the National Guard plus the NYPD were outside the venue having a meeting just days before the venue is set to host what might be the wedding of the century.

It’s claimed the ceremony will have to abide by huge security protocols. Guests will reportedly have to sign electronic NDAs before attending, with every invite individually watermarked.

New images have also suggested that the ceremony could bring its own glitz and glamour. A red carpet was spotted being placed near the garden’s VIP entrance ready for the biggest names to arrive. It’s thought around 100 guests are expected to pop up on July 2 for a smaller gathering, before a bigger event the following day.

And it’s claimed the set up will even include a castle. Sources close to the wedding told TMZ that a huge castle is currently being built inside a garden at MSG to give a fairy-tale vibe for the pair’s big day.

Crews were snapped unloading giant, covered scenic pieces labelled “Garden Party 1 (Scenic)” and spray-painted “GP” outside the venue.

The latest updates come after The New York Times previously reported that MSG, which is home of the New York Knicks, had been rented out for a multi-day event by Winick Productions, for use between July 2-4.

The public calendar for the stadium between those dates is surprisingly empty, with the next event listed as a Bon Jovi gig on July 7. Permits have also been filed for street closures directly around the venue.

The hosts were given permission to shut down the area, as well as setting up a canopy outside. New York City Hall spokesperson Dora Pekec told US Weekly the permits are in place, but insisted this isn’t uncommon for events of similar size. They said: “That just means they’re going to put proper protocols to make sure everyone’s safe and can get around.”

Of course, it has not been officially announced that this will in fact be the venue for the nuptials and could very well be a very elaborate decoy from the A-list couple.

The Cruel Summer singer, 36, and her Kansas City tight-end fiancé, also 36, announced their engagement last summer. They had been dating for around two years. Ever since going official, fans have been fully invested in the relationship.

And Swifties have been eager to discover what the big day will entail – and it’s said to be going to be bigger than the Met Gala. An insider told Page Six: “I’ve heard Taylor invited so many people it’s going to be bigger than the Met Gala.”

It’s thought the likes of Graham Norton, Zoe Kravitz, Suki Waterhouse, Ed Sheeran, Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco will attend. Big names are also thought to be performing during the ceremony.

Page Six claimed that Tim McGraw and Stevie Nicks will be taking on the stage – after Taylor donned a playful top embossed with the Fleetwood Mac icon’s name at a Knicks game just weeks ago.
