Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will tie the knot at a major New York City venue next month, according to reports. The power couple, both 36, are set to marry on July 3 if the rumours are to be believed.
Though the Love Story singer is thought to have sent ‘save the date’ notes to her guests, the exact location of the wedding – one of the most high-profile celebrity nuptials in recent years – is being kept under wraps, and the pair have yet to name a location.
Various venues have been mentioned, from her beach house on Rhode Island, where she is known for hosting her Independence Day parties, to the five-star luxury Ocean House resort in Westerly, said to be one of the fanciest hotels in the world.
Even Taylor’s own multi-million-dollar estate in Tribeca, Lower Manhattan, which is effectively an entire apartment block she’s had turned into a sprawling, secure compound, has been touted as a potential wedding spot for her and Kansas City Chiefs football star Travis.
Now the rumours have got even bigger – with TMZ reporting that the wedding venue is set to be in one of New York’s busiest boroughs. A source, said to have direct knowledge of the wedding, told the publication that it’s going down on July 3 in the “middle of Manhattan.”
In that area, the bride and groom have several iconic options for their big day, like the famous skyscraper complex, the Rockefeller Centre, Radio City Music Hall, or the NYC Public Library – the venue Sarah Jessica Parker’s Sex And The City character Carrie Bradshaw famously chose for her failed wedding to Mr Big.
But TMZ claim: “There’s a buzz Taylor and Travis will by tying the knot at Madison Square Garden, but no word yet if that’s indeed the place.” This legendary music venue is huge – even by billionaire Taylor’s standards – and can hold as many as 22,000 people.
While there will likely be nowhere near that amount of guests attending, fellow US publication Page Six also report that the ‘Tayvis’ wedding could take place at the unlikely venue, which is home to the Knicks, Rangers and numerous music concerts, including Taylor’s.
Though it seems an odd choice for such an event, a source reportedly said: “If you have billions you can transform the space into a wedding venue,'” adding that: “Everyone’s been sworn to secrecy.”
It’s claimed that guests could be transported in on blacked-out buses and take advantage of the venue’s multiple entrances and highly secure infrastructure. Perhaps tellingly, the venue also has no events scheduled from June 29 through to July 6.
And Taylor and Travis were spotted in New York several times last month, prompting speculation they were in town to finalise preparations for their big day. However, details surrounding Taylor and Travis’ big day are being kept under wraps and haven’t been shared publicly.
New York Police Department commissioner Jessica Tisch even mentioned the need for extra security in NYC for the numerous events happening over the holiday weekend, including July 4 and America’s 250th celebrations, the NBA Finals, FIFA World Cup and “potentially Taylor Swift’s wedding.” Though she quickly added: “I’m kidding.”
Another question on everyone’s lips is – who’s made the guest list? Taylor’s celebrity gal ‘squad’ includes lifelong best friends like Abigail Anderson, as well as an A-list roster of actresses, models and fellow musicians.
Close pals Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Emma Stone and HAIM sisters Danielle, Este and Alana, as well as Brits like model Cara Delevingne, are all thought to have guaranteed invites.
However, a couple of Taylor’s famous pals might not make the cut. They include Zoë Kravitz, who has just got engaged to Taylor’s ex, Harry Styles.
Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively is another ‘maybe’ after Taylor became embroiled in Blake’s court case against Justin Baldoni, her co-star and director of her 2024 movie It Ends With Us.
Another couple of names reported not to have made the guest list are actor Miles Teller and his wife, Keleigh Sperry. The couple were once very close to Taylor – but the foursome sparked rift rumours when Keleigh didn’t sit with Taylor at last year’s Super Bowl. Guess we’ll have to wait and see…
