Hyderabad: A Telangana delegation led by Minister for Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, Fisheries, Youth Services and Sports, Vakiti Srihari is currently touring Jammu and Kashmir to attend the Khelo India Chintan Shivir in Srinagar.
The three-day Chintan Shivir is being held at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre, bringing together Ministers of Youth Affairs and Sports from various states and Union Territories.
The event is being conducted under the leadership of Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Minister of State for Defence Nikhil Khadse.
The discussions at the Chintan Shivir focus on sports development, strengthening coordination between the Centre and states, and outlining future strategies for the growth of sports in India.
Minister Vakiti Srihari is set to present Telangana’s progressive sports policy highlighting the government’s initiatives aimed at positioning the state as a model in the sports sector. The Telangana delegation will also seek greater support from the Central Government to meet the state’s sports infrastructure and development needs.
The event has drawn participation from ministers, coaches, athletes, and officials representing multiple states and Union Territories.
As part of the first day’s activities, the Minister participated in a yoga session along with Mansukh Mandviya. Emphasizing the importance of yoga, the Minister stated that it should be integrated into daily life despite busy schedules.
He noted that yoga contributes to both mental well-being and physical fitness, and stressed that practicing yoga should become a responsibility for everyone—from children to the elderly.
