The Telangana government has officially approved a ticket price hike for Ram Charan’s highly anticipated film Peddi, providing a major boost to the film ahead of its grand release. The decision comes as welcome news for fans, exhibitors, and distributors who had been eagerly awaiting the government’s final approval regarding revised ticket prices and special premiere screenings.

According to the government order, Peddi will be allowed to hold a special premiere show on June 3 at 8 PM, a day before its worldwide theatrical release. The ticket price for these premiere screenings has been fixed at ₹600 plus GST. The approval is expected to significantly benefit the film’s opening-day collections, considering the massive buzz surrounding the project and the strong demand for premiere tickets.

Advance bookings have already commenced across the Nizam region, and the response has reportedly been exceptional. Many theatres have witnessed rapid ticket sales, reflecting the excitement among Ram Charan fans and moviegoers. Industry circles expect the film to register one of the biggest openings of the year in Telugu cinema.

The Telangana government has also granted permission for enhanced ticket prices for a period of ten days, from June 4 to June 13. Under the revised pricing structure, single-screen theatres can increase ticket prices by ₹100, while multiplexes have been permitted a hike of ₹125 per ticket. As a result, ticket prices in many theatres are expected to reach around ₹275 in single screens and approximately ₹420 in multiplexes.

Apart from the ticket hike, the government has approved five shows per day across theatres screening Peddi. This additional show allowance is expected to maximize occupancy levels and help the film capitalize on the strong initial demand during its crucial first week. The extra shows are likely to play a key role in boosting the overall box-office performance, particularly during the opening weekend.

Interestingly, the film’s team had reportedly requested a ₹150 hike for multiplex tickets. However, after reviewing the proposal, the Telangana government approved a slightly lower increase of ₹125. Despite the reduced amount, exhibitors and distributors are said to be satisfied with the decision, as it still provides substantial revenue potential during the film’s peak business period.

One notable aspect of the government order is its welfare component. The GO states that 20 percent of the additional revenue generated through the ticket price hike must be contributed to the Telugu Film Industry Employees Welfare Association. The move is aimed at supporting film workers, technicians, and other industry personnel whose contributions often remain behind the scenes. Industry observers have welcomed this provision, describing it as a positive step toward strengthening welfare initiatives within the film fraternity.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh has already issued similar permissions for ticket price hikes and premiere screenings, ensuring that the film enjoys favorable release conditions across both Telugu states. With government approvals now in place and advance bookings gaining momentum, theatres are preparing for celebratory screenings and packed houses.
