Telangana Govt Sets Up ICC to Address Women Employees’ Grievances

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has constituted an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) for redressal of complaints or grievances made by women employees in Revenue department at the Secretariat here.

The committee is headed by L.L.V. Subbamma, Additional Secretary Presiding Officer to Government, J.V. Vijayalakshmi, Joint Secretary to Government, A. Uma Reddy, a Section Officer and K. Nivedita, Assistant Section Officer as members. Nivedita is also Telangana Secretariat Women Association Representative.

The committee would receive complaints regarding sexual harassment of women employees in workplace and enquire in the matter and prepare a detailed enquiry report. It will furnish the detailed reports on sexual harassment of working women in the department to the Secretary to Government for initiating necessary disciplinary action as per rules in force.

The committee would follow the instructions and guidelines issued by the government from time to time in the matter, according to D S Lokesh Kumar, Secretary to Government.

The committee was constituted after the Women, Child, Disabled and Senior Citizens (WCD&SC) department had requested all the departments of Secretariat to constitute ICCs for redressal of complaints and grievances made by women at the workplace.
