Hyderabad: The Telangana State Haj Committee on Friday announced that it would refund `10,000 to each Haj-2026 pilgrim, which they had to pay earlier this year for increased airline fuel charges. The circular on the revised charge was issued after few pilgrims reached Saudi Arabia.
State Haj Committee chairman Syed Gulam Afzal Biyabani said the Haj Committee of India had directed pilgrims to pay the additional fee. Pilgrims who have not paid the additional amount have to pay the amount directly to the Haj Committee of India as per Circular No. 42.
However, as assured by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the state Haj Committee said it would refund the money directly into the individual bank accounts of the pilgrims.
