HYDERABAD: The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education has imposed penalties exceeding ₹2.5 crore on 300 private junior colleges for violating norms.
Penalties ranging from ₹1 lakh to ₹10 lakh were levied after inspections found unauthorised admissions, illegal operations, shortage of faculty, lack of laboratories and libraries, and failure to adhere to the prescribed timetable.
Further, fines of ₹8 lakh each were imposed on 45 colleges for submitting fake fire NoCs of HYDRAA to obtain affiliation for 2026–27.
TG BIE Secretary Abhilasha Abhinav said task force teams are conducting regular inspections, particularly in the CURE region, to ensure compliance with affiliation norms.
Nodal Officers Named For Adilabad Joint‑User Airport Project
HYDERABAD: Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy on Sunday said nodal officers have been appointed by the ministries of defence and civil aviation to fast‑track the proposed joint‑user airport at Adilabad.
In a post on X, Reddy said the move follows his persistent follow‑up with the ministries and will ensure coordination with the state government for construction of an Air Force training centre and a joint‑user airfield for civil and defence purposes.
“The infrastructure that will be built by the Ministry of Defence includes trainer aircraft, visiting aircraft parking dispersals, weather shelters, aircraft hangars, an operational complex, training facilities and maintenance infrastructure,” he said.
