Telangana: Yadagirigutta Temple Facilities To Get Tirumala-Level Facilities

NALGONDA: Yadagirigutta Temple Trust Board Chairman Dr M. Satyanarayana Reddy on Saturday said facilities at the Sri Lakshminarsimha Swamy temple would be developed on par with those at Tirumala for the convenience of devotees.

Speaking after taking oath, he said the trust board would study facilities provided by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and take a decision on upgrading infrastructure at Yadagirigutta. He said priority would be given to improving amenities for devotees visiting the hill shrine.

He said works on providing a roof cover along the steps pathway were already under way. The proposal for a second steps route to the temple is under examination. He added that the authorities would also examine providing quicker darshan for devotees reaching the shrine by foot, on the lines of arrangements at Tirumala.

Replying to a query, he said the Vishnu Pushkarini on the hill shrine would be further developed. He added that focus would also be laid on development of the temple town, including construction of choultries.

Earlier, oath-taking of the trust board members was held at the Bangaru Vakili in the temple premises amid Vedic chants. Vinod Venkata Swamy, Konidela Surekha, Chippala Vijaya Rajam, Pochaboina Eshwaramma, Gunda Mallaiah, Swathi Kantamani, M. Raghavander Rao and Dr Lakshminarayana Naik were sworn in as members.

Endowment commissioner M. Hanumantha Rao, YTDA vice-chairman G. Kishan Rao, temple chief priest K. Venkatacharyulu and executive officer J. Bhavani Shanker took oath as ex-officio members.

Trust board member Vijayender Goud and ex-officio member Narsimha Murthy were absent. Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, principal secretary (endowments) Shailaja Ramaiyer and Yadadri-Bhongir district collector Anurag Jayanthi also did not attend the ceremony.
