Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy extended greetings to the people of Telangana and tourists visiting the state on the occasion of World Tourism Day.
Revanth Reddy expressed hope that Telangana’s immense cultural, historical and spiritual wealth would be showcased on the global tourism map. He said the state’s historical buildings, temples, forts, waterfalls, forests, wildlife sanctuaries, lakes, folk arts and festivals reflected its unique identity.
He said the government was taking several measures to develop major tourism destinations, including Ramappa, Warangal, Yadadri, Bhadradri, Alampur and Medaram, along with historical structures in Hyderabad, to attract both domestic and international tourists.
The Chief Minister said the Telangana Tourism Policy 2025-30 was aimed at encouraging investments in the tourism sector and creating a favourable ecosystem for private investment in new tourism projects. These include adventure tourism, caravan parks, wayside amenities, eco-tourism and other related sectors.
Along with eco-tourism, temple tourism and medical tourism, the government was giving special priority to heritage tourism, he said.
Emphasising the potential of tourism to generate employment for local youth, Revanth Reddy said the government was working to provide better facilities for tourists, convenient travel and quality services. He said efforts were also being made to attract investments and establish Telangana as a leading tourist destination in the country.
The Chief Minister said the participation of local communities, tourism sector organisations, hotels, travel agencies, artists, artisans and youth would play a key role in the development of Telangana’s tourism sector.
He called upon people to work towards sustainable tourism development while preserving the state’s heritage, protecting nature and respecting local culture.
