Tess Daly and Vernon Kay have been seen smiling together for the first time since they floored fans with news of their split last week. The pair stayed true to their word and appear to remain good friends

Exes Tess Daly and Vernon Kay were seen beaming alongside each other as they partied together at Pub in the Park festival, just a week after they announced their break-up. The former couple, who are divorcing after 23 years of marriage, posed for photos – with Vernon still wearing his wedding ring.

Former Strictly host Tess, 57, was seen dancing the night away with Vernon, as they enjoyed a drink with their pals at the event in Marlow, Bucks. When they weren’t taking selfies with fans, Tess and Vernon were having a laugh with their mates, including actor Will Mellor.

An onlooker told the Daily Star: “Tess and Vernon were with four of their friends and seemed friendly. They seemed super relaxed, chatty and happy together. They enjoyed the festival, walking around for ages, then went to VIP.

“They stopped to pose for pics with fans. And Tess enjoyed a dance to Craig David at the VIP front of the stage while Vernon did his best dad dancing.”

It comes as Tess was also seen still sporting her wedding ring, as she shared a series of photos on Instagram, teasing a new mystery project that she’s filming, following her Strictly departure. She could be seen wearing a black jumpsuit with sheer sleeves – as well as her huge diamond engagement ring and platinum wedding band.

The mum-of-two captioned the snap: “The glam before the go.” She was flooded with support from fans and celebrity pals alike.

Although their split was shock, Tess and Vernon have stayed true to their promise to “remain great friends”. As the Mirror previously reported, the couple even toasted their separation with a glass of champagne.

Their joint statement read: “After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably.

“This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire of what is best for both of us. We remain great friends and, most importantly, fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents, which will always be our priority.”

Shutting down potential speculation, they confirmed there were “no other parties involved” in their decision to split. The statement ended: “We kindly ask for privacy during this time. We will not be making any further public comments.”

They are also still living together, with a source close to the couple told The Mirror: “After they released the statement, Vernon and Tess took a moment to toast each other and their futures. They only want the best for each other and their family. There has been no big fallout, more a gradual growing apart and wanting different things.

“They have vowed to stay friends and to keep things classy when it comes to the split and any future interviews they give. They only want the best for each other.”
