The Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) suspended the food safety licences of four eateries and ordered them to stop operations following inspections of 13 restaurants and canteens here.

Seven enforcement teams comprising food safety officers and police personnel conducted the inspections in areas including Ameerpet, Jubilee Hills, Madhapur, Chikkadpally, Hafeezpet and Vengal Rao Nagar.

The licences of NR’s Nandini Sudha at Chikkadpally, Sai Darshini and Universal Restaurant at Vengal Rao Nagar, and Harsha Delux Mess at Ameerpet were suspended, with instructions to stop operations immediately in the interest of public health.

The Padmasree Canteen at the IACG Hostel Mess in Madhapur was also ordered to stop operations for functioning without an FSSAI licence under unhygienic conditions.

Officials collected 16 food samples on suspicion of adulteration during the inspections.

Showcause notices will be issued to seven establishments, including Imperial Multicuisine Restaurant at Hafeezpet, Kolkata House and Raju Gari Biryani in Madhapur, Anandobramha Fine Dine Restaurant and Rayalaseema Ruchulu in Ameerpet, and Avuna Restaurant in Madhapur.

TG SAFE will issue an improvement notice to Absolute Barbeque in Jubilee Hills and reinspect the establishments to verify compliance with food safety norms. Further action, including penalties, will be initiated based on the findings.
