Hyderabad: As many as 63,939 waqf properties have been registered on the Umeed portal with the conclusion of the maker stage on Friday, the Telangana Waqf Board said.
Of the total entries, 54,550 properties have been approved, 3,798 remain at the maker stage and 5,589 were rejected due to duplicate entries.
The board said all major waqf properties underwent three-level verification and expressed confidence that there would be no rejections at the Central Waqf Council stage. It added that approval authorities can upload supporting documents till June 30.
Officials clarified that any modifications or addition of supporting records can now be carried out only by the approval authority, as the maker stage has been closed.
For major waqf properties under its direct management, the Telangana State Waqf Board acted as the maker and completed scrutiny at the maker, checker and approval levels. In several cases, records were sourced from the State Archives at Tarnaka, including Muntakhab and other documents.
Waqf Board member Maulana Abul Fateh Syed Bandagi Badesha Quadri said he expects minimal rejections at the Central Waqf Council level.
He said the Waqf Board CEO monitored all stages of the exercise to ensure documentation was completed in accordance with due procedure and legal requirements.
He also appealed to the Central government to keep the portal open for one year and undertake wider publicity to enable complete data collection and awareness among stakeholders.
