Hyderabad: The Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) has released the second phase seat allotment results for TGEAPCET-2026 engineering admissions, with 80,167 out of 94,424 available seats filled across colleges in the State.
According to official data, 92,192 candidates attended certificate verification, including 2,731 candidates in the second phase. A total of 60,792 candidates exercised web options in this phase, generating over 26.5 lakh choices.
Of the total allotments, 37,442 candidates retained their earlier seats, while 34,828 candidates secured upgraded (slided) allotments. As many as 7,897 candidates were allotted seats for the first time in the second phase.
Category-wise, private colleges accounted for the bulk of admissions, filling 73,874 out of 86,387 seats (85.5%). Private universities recorded near-total occupancy with 1,384 out of 1,386 seats filled (99.9%), while university colleges filled 4,853 of 6,437 seats (75.4%). Government institutions saw relatively low occupancy, filling only 56 out of 214 seats (26.2%).
Overall, 14,257 seats remain vacant after the second phase. Additionally, 6,329 candidates secured allotments under the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) quota.
The counselling process was conducted on July 18–19, with seat allotments reflecting continued preference for private engineering institutions among aspirants.
