Hyderabad:The Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) on Friday conducted a surprise inspection at a private hotel in Karmanghat after receiving information about an alleged unauthorised training programme on regenerative medicine.
The council said it would initiate legal action, including filing an FIR, against institutions conducting such programmes without proper authorisation.
The inspection was carried out at Hotel Shubham Prestige by TGMC member Dr Gundagani Srinivas, accompanied by Dr Jalagam Vijay as an eyewitness and TGMC Vigilance Officer Ramu.
During the inspection, the team found that an organisation operating under the name MAC International Academy, along with Naturo Scholars, was conducting a three‑day Fellowship in Cellular and Regenerative Medicine (FCRM) programme, which included hands‑on training and certification.
According to the council, the sessions were being conducted by Dr Pruthvi Vaity, a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) graduate registered with the Maharashtra Dental Council. The participants included dentists, AYUSH practitioners, MBBS graduates, radiologists, anaesthetists, general physicians and urologists undergoing training in cellular and regenerative medicine procedures.
The participants allegedly informed the inspection team that they had enrolled after being told that qualified dermatologists and anaesthetists would provide the training and hands‑on exposure. However, the council said the programme was instead conducted by a dentist, which it termed misleading.
The Telangana Medical Council expressed serious concern over the conduct of the programme, stating that regenerative medicine training should be imparted only by appropriately qualified professionals.
The council said the inspection findings would be placed before its General Body for further deliberation and action. It also decided to forward the inspection report to the Telangana Dental Council and the Maharashtra Dental Council for appropriate action regarding the involvement of a dental practitioner in conducting the training.
In addition, the TGMC said it would initiate steps to register an FIR against fake aesthetic institutions conducting unauthorised training programmes.
