Hyderabad: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has removed a driver from duty after he allegedly behaved inappropriately and assaulted a school student near Nellikuduru in Mahabubabad district.
The driver, Swamy, attached to the Thorrur depot, was operating bus TS26T1266 when the incident occurred. Following the incident, senior officials ordered an inquiry into the matter.
The inquiry found that the driver had acted irresponsibly and behaved in an aggressive manner, prompting the corporation to take immediate disciplinary action and remove him from duty.
The TGSRTC said the safety and dignity of passengers were its top priorities. It stressed that all employees must treat passengers, particularly students, women and senior citizens, with courtesy and responsibility.
The corporation also warned that indiscipline or misconduct towards passengers would not be tolerated and directed its staff to maintain professional and respectful conduct while on duty.
