The production budget of young actor Nikhil Siddhartha’s upcoming film The India House has reportedly crossed ₹85 crore, making it one of the costliest films of his career, according to industry sources.
Directed by Ram Vamsi Krishna, the period drama is set in 1905 and features Saiee Manjrekar and veteran actor Anupam Kher in pivotal roles. Set largely in London, the film blends a passionate love story with the political turmoil surrounding India House, the historic centre of Indian revolutionaries in Britain.
When contacted, producer Abhishek Agarwal acknowledged that production costs had increased but declined to disclose the exact budget.
“The film deserves a good budget, as it has been shot at foreign locations, and the current schedule is taking place in Europe. I don’t want to disclose the numbers, but it will be a lavish film and one of the costliest films in Nikhil’s career,” he said.
Abhishek also spoke about the film’s music, composed by Shashwat Sachdev, who gained wider recognition for his work on Dhurandhar.
“We are glad to work with such a talented composer in Telugu cinema. He has already delivered five enchanting and soulful songs for our period saga,” he said.
Abhishek also expressed his happiness about collaborating with star actor Ram Charan, who has joined the project as a co-producer.
“It is great to work with a big star, and things are going well. Director Ram Vamsi Krishna gave him a detailed narration, and Ram Charan was impressed by the script and instantly agreed to join hands with us,” he said.
Set in 1905, the period drama explores the themes of love and revolution. The film was launched at the Virupaksha Temple in Hampi, a site associated with the historic Kishkindha region.
