Earlier this month, at an age when most young men are still learning to shave, a baby-faced Blades Brown, 19, became the youngest player ever to graduate to the PGA Tour via the Korn Ferry Tour.
His precocious achievement made bold-letter headlines. It was also the talk among other pros.
On a recent episode of GOLF’s Subpar podcast, Davis Lamb, who was part of the same graduating class, was asked about the players who impressed him most on the Korn Ferry Tour last season. Brown was the first name that came to mind.
“He’s remarkable in a lot of different ways,” Lamb said. And not just because of his ball striking. There was also, as Lamb joked, his poise “as a 12-year-old.”
Seriously, though, how consistent was Brown in 2026? So consistent that he finished 9th in the season-long points total without managing a win. That’s tough to do, Lamb noted.
But another player pulled off the same trick — a lesser-known pro whom Lamb says also cuts the profile of a star-in-the-making: 27-year old Hunter Eichhorn, a product of Marquette who played the season with his girlfriend, Sarah Busey, on his bag.
Lamb described Eichhorn as “a flat-out flusher.” The numbers support his take. Like Brown, Eichhorn didn’t nab a title in 2026. But he made 19 of 25 cuts and recorded nine top 10s and a runner-up finish.
“He’s a guy I’d definitely be looking out for,” Lamb said. “He’s super impressive.”
Lamb’s game isn’t shabby either. He was a Korn Ferry winner in 2026 and finished 20th in the standings, just inside the cutoff himself. You’ll see him soon on the PGA Tour.
