Natural Star Nani’s latest release, The Paradise, has registered a staggering start at the box office. According to Sacnilk, the film collected a net of Rs 34.65 Cr on Day 1. The cumulative India gross totalled Rs 54.90 Cr, while the total India net stood at Rs 46.25 Cr. Overseas, too, The Paradise grossed Rs 22.00 Cr, getting off to a flying start. On Day 1, which includes the premiere numbers from Wednesday evening, the film’s worldwide gross was Rs 76.90 Cr. These are Nani’s career-best figures and demonstrate his box-office potential.
Pre-Sales are sky-high
The Srikanth Odela directorial also recorded the highest footfalls for any premiere shows in 2026. The period action drama, set in 1980s Secunderabad, performed exceptionally well during pre-sales on BookMyShow, the ticket-booking platform. By selling 941K tickets, it surpassed films like Game Changer, Peddi, Guntur Kaaram, and The Raja Saab. Both the Hindi and Tamil dubbed versions held up well, posting solid footfall numbers compared to recent pan-Indian releases. It remains to be seen how the film will hold up in the non-Telugu versions from Day 2.
The Nizam territory, mainly Hyderabad, emerged as the top performer. Previously, Nani achieved his highest opening-day Nizam gross with Dasara at Rs 10 Cr in 2023. The Paradise minted more than double that amount on its opening day.
USA box office is highly encouraging
Internationally, the film marked Nani’s 12th movie to cross the $1 million mark at the US box office. This achievement places him alongside Mahesh Babu in reaching the milestone. It has exceeded the $1.17 million mark so far.
Early trade reports indicate strong momentum for Day 2. Advance bookings in the Telugu states have reached Rs 6.5 Cr, with Nizam contributing over two-thirds of that figure. Nationwide, total advance collections are hovering in the Rs 8 Cr range.
According to trade pundits, The Paradise will get good traction during the weekend. But with the Nani-starrer opening to mixed reviews, it’ll be interesting to see how the film fares at the box office.
