EXCLUSIVE: The Primals, the official band of Final Fantasy XIV, have hinted that, following the success of their appearance at Download Festival, they could be heading for a world tour
The Primals have revealed that they could be heading on a world tour. The group recently played at Download Festival, which, according to the band, exceeded all of their expectations.
The band, who are the official band of Final Fantasy XIV, are no strangers to playing festivals, but after recently performing in Japan, they revealed that there was no better feeling than rocking out at Download.
“Feeling the love from all sides has been amazing,” Koji told the Mirror. Meanwhile, for Soken, their performance was extra special for him. He admitted that growing up, he listened to the bands that were playing alongside him, adding an extra touch to their day.
He said: “Ever since I was a student, these are the bands that I’ve been listening to, the bands that I’ve loved, and then even more recent bands that are just amazing up there as well. So it’s just completely unbelievable for us to be here at the same festival, performing in the same place as these guys, it’s absolutely amazing and such a fabulous honour.”
Gunn went on to add: “Me too. We were actually performing yesterday, so we were pretty busy. Unfortunately, that didn’t mean we got to see many things yesterday, so I’m excited we’re here on the second day today, so I fully intend to go out there and enjoy myself.”
“We’ve had several performances in London where we’ve played specifically to our player base and the fans of our game,” Soken said of their recent UK visits, adding that their fans in London are “so hyped” and make the most of the performances.
Koji went on to reveal that during Download, it was the first time they had experienced fans crowdsurfing at their gigs, a feeling that left them overjoyed. “That was, for us, a first,” he said, adding: “We’re so proud, when the security came and took them down the line, we’re like ‘No, we love you man!'”
Gunn went on to say: “I’ve been to the UK before. I spent a bit of time in London by myself, because I didn’t really know where to go or what to do… But this time, everyone’s been really taking good care of us, looking after us.” But for Gunn, there’s one highlight of his trip.
He explained: “The food has been amazing.” While their most recent trip to the UK has perhaps been their favourite, the group have revealed there could be another trip in the near future as part of a world tour.
Soken teased: “But of course, there’s only one thing… Rock ‘n’ Roll!” Koji went on to add: “Yes, Rock ‘n’ Roll, of course, but I think using this as kind of a stepping stone.
“We’ve done a lot of fan events, this has really been our first non-fan event, it’s a rock and roll event, maybe using this as a stepping stone into more rock and roll events, maybe a world tour, travelling to places we haven’t been, spreading the music of Soken and Final Fantasy XIV and just rocking it.”
Soken commented: “Because we really do want to go and rock out with all the players and fans in the regions we’ve not had the opportunity to visit just yet, so world tour it is.”
