Hyderabad: The Oscar nominated docudrama film The Voice Of Hind Rajab, which has been at the center of a heated censorship debate in India after Central Board of Films Certifications (CBFC) rejected previously over Israel and India relations, is reportedly secured for theatrical release in India after a fresh review by the CBFC. According to reports, the film is likely to receive an A (Adults Only) making the way for its release in Indian Cinemas.
Directed by Tunisian Filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania, the docudrama focuses on the tragic death of Hind Rajab, a five year old palestine girl who was killed during the time of conflict in Gaza. The Film has drawn international attention for its portrayal of human cost of war and was nominated in various major international awards.
The documentary had faced obstacles in India after the CBFC’s Examining Committee reportedly refused to certify it. According to reports, the main concern raised was that the film’s release could affect diplomatic sensitivities related to India – Israel relations.
