At least three pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh lost their lives and 15 others were injured in a road accident in Bihar’s Aurangabad district late Sunday night. The victims were part of a group travelling from Sangam in Nellore district to Varanasi on a pilgrimage.
According to family members, the bus carrying 43 pilgrims had left Sangam on June 1. The accident occurred when the vehicle was travelling from Gaya to Varanasi on National Highway-2 and collided with an oncoming vehicle.
The impact of the collision was severe, particularly affecting passengers seated on the left side of the bus, where the three fatalities were reported on the spot. Around 15 passengers from Sangam and Atmakur sustained injuries and were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Families of the victims have appealed to the Andhra Pradesh government for assistance and support in the aftermath of the tragedy.
