Siddipet: Three persons in their 20s drowned in a stream at Nacharam in Vargal mandal of Siddipet district on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Prashanth (27), Vikas (27), and Anand Reddy (27), all residents of Narsapur.
According to Gouraram SI Arogyam, the three had visited the Nacharam Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple on Wednesday. After offering prayers, Vikas and Anand Reddy entered the stream for a bath. Since they reportedly did not know swimming, they began drowning in the water.
Noticing them struggle, Prashanth, who was standing on the bank, jumped into the stream in an attempt to save them. However, he too reportedly did not know swimming, and all three drowned.
Police, along with expert swimmers, launched a search operation on Thursday morning and recovered the bodies. The bodies were shifted to Gajwel Government Hospital for postmortem examination.
Police registered a case based on a complaint filed by the family members and initiated an investigation.
