Tirumala: The temple of Lord Venkateswara witnessed a huge rush of devotees on Saturday, with the waiting time for pilgrims opting for Dharma Darshan stretching beyond 24 to 30 hours.
Thousands of devotees were seen patiently waiting in long queue lines, chanting ‘Govinda’ as they waited for darshan. The queue lines extended up to the Octopus Building, reflecting the massive footfall at Tirumala.
The heavy rush was attributed to the third Saturday of Purattasi, a month considered highly auspicious for devotees of Lord Vishnu. Purattasi Saturdays are particularly significant for worshipping Lord Venkateswara, drawing large numbers of devotees to temples to offer prayers and seek the Lord’s blessings.
Devotees from different parts of the country arrived in large numbers to seek the blessings of Lord Venkateswara on the auspicious occasion.
Despite the huge crowd and prolonged waiting time, many devotees appreciated the arrangements made by the temple authorities. Pilgrims said that the arrangements were well managed and that they were not facing major difficulties despite the heavy rush.
