The powerful stable of Annabel and Rob Archibald will be out in force at Muswellbrook on Sunday, with the wife and husband training partnership having seven runners spread over four races on the seven-event card.
The Archibalds will open the day with a three-pronged attack on the TAB Maiden Plate (1500m) with Maremoto (Adam Farragher), Strasbelle (Olivia Dalton) and Trapeazy (Mollie Fitzgerald) going around.
Maremoto is lightly raced with just three starts to her name and Farragher was in the saddle when she was a last start third at Newcastle.
Strasbelle has been racing well with two placings at Tamworth either side of a third at Muswellbook two starts ago.
Trapeazy has been unplaced in both runs since resuming from a spell but did run third behind subsequent Golden Slipper third placegetter Music Time when on debut at Canberra back in February.
Farragher will combine with the stable again when Cool Art resumes from a spell in the Hunter Thoroughbred Breeders’ Maiden Plate (1000m).
A three-year-old filly by Cool Aza Beel, Cool Art had two starts earlier in the year and finished last in the Group 3 Widden Stakes before another last in a maiden at Warwick Farm. She will find Sunday’s event a much easier assignment.
The Archibalds will have two runners in the Queen Of The Valley Matchmaker F&M BM66 Handicap (1280m) with Farragher steering Tulipwood and Aaron Bullock partnering pre-post favourite Wootten It Be Nice.
Tulipwood is a two-time winner from 11 starts and has a further five minor placings. She hasn’t raced since January 13 when she finished second at Muswellbrook behind Crimson Wings. Tulipwood has had two barrier trials to be readied for her return, finishing fifth in the latest of them at Muswellbrook behind King Jerry.
Wootten It Be Nice was placed at Muswellbrook two starts ago and has been down the track in two Kembla Grange runs either side of that.
Hinune (Farragher) rounds out the Archibald runners when it lines up in the EMF Group Benchmark 66 Handicap (1500m) on the back of a last start second at Muswellbrook behind subsequent Randwick winner Avista.
