2.48 Yarmouth – Zubaru faces eight in hat-trick bid
Nine will contest the second race at Yarmouth in the Download The At The Races App Handicap over seven furlongs, where George Scott’s Zubaru will look to complete the hat-trick.
Having been a seven-race maiden, the four-year-old got off the mark on his return to the turf at the start of the month and then followed that up with another success at Leicester a week later. The gelding now comes into this off a career-high mark with Darragh Keenan returning to the saddle.
The chief threat to Zubaru‘s hat-trick bid may come from Chris Dwyer’s Berry Clever who was successful eight days ago when justifying favouritism over course and distance. The five-year-old carries a 5lb penalty for that success but is offset by Liam Wright claiming 5lb.
Fifty Nifty for Chelsea Banham, course-and-distance winner Drifts Away and Tom Queally’s ride Dapper Guest are others to keep an eye on.
3.40 Ripon – Parole d’Oro and Prince Of The Seas headline
An intriguing field of 10 go to post in the Ripon Cathedral Handicap over a mile and a quarter at Ripon.
Michael Bell and Clifford Lee team up here with Parole d’Oro who is seeking a first win since August 2024 when winning a two-year-old race at Epsom. The four-year-old has run in a number of good handicaps since and a second career success should not be too far away.
Prince Of The Seas was seen as a Classic prospect last year but having been well beaten in a couple of trials, the 130,000gns-yearling was switched to handicaps which included a success over a mile and a half at Goodwood. The son of Sea The Stars is now a pound lower than that winning mark and with Jack Dace in the saddle claiming 5lb, the four-year-old could be well handicapped to record a third career win.
Londoner will be the mount of PJ McDonald who is looking for a repeat result of his run two starts back when scoring over a mile and a quarter on All-Weather Finals Day, while El Matador will be looking to go one better than his two runs since being gelded where he has been narrowly beaten into second both times.
James McHenry, Spioradalta and course-and-distance winner Spirit Of Acklam are others to note.
4.00 Worcester – Mexican Stan and Son Of Tyran seek successive wins
A field of 11 will contest the CopyBet Daily Profit Boost Novices’ Limited Handicap Hurdle at Worcester.
Harry and Dan Skelton team up with Son Of Tyran who broke his maiden tag when justifying favouritism at Ludlow at the start of the month. The significant step up in trip and the better ground were potentially both reasons for the improved performance and therefore the gelding should enjoy conditions here.
Mexican Stan was another who improved for the step up in trip scoring at Warwick 19 days ago and Tom Broughton keeps the ride for this hurdles contest.
Anthony Day’s Saint Vic hit the post when last seen at Uttoxeter having been well backed beforehand and has every chance to go one better here.
