Todd Chrisley sat down for a chat on Bunne Xo’s podcast on October 29, 2026. On the show, he admitted that he did not immediately approve of Savannah’s relationship with Galanis, who is 56. But eventually had to choose between accepting their relationship or risking his bond with his daughter. So, he made the tough decision to accept it for her sake. In his words:
“He is older; he’s 20 years older. It was not something that I embraced. Nothing is ever coming between my daughter and me. I love Savannah with my heart and soul, but did I advocate for this? No.”
However, Todd said that Jason and his family have treated Savannah with respect. He also acknowledged that her fiancé has gone through some difficult period in his life. He also recalled telling John that Savannah may be the only love he ever claimed to have, but he will not be the only person she loved in her lifetime.
According to Todd, John agreed with him and ensured that she never forgets how much he loved her. Todd also hinted that the couple might already be married. He also suggested that Savannah will share more details about their relationship in the coming week. Despite his initial hesitation, he mentioned that he was happy for his daughter and excited to meet his grandchild.
For those who don’t know, Savannah, 29, has also addressed the criticism around their 27-year age difference. She told her Unlocked podcast that she has made it clear that she was not bothered by the gap. In her words:
“I would rather [have] 20 phenomenal, unbelievable years with someone than 50 just [fine] years. So yes, the age difference. So what?”
However, their relationship has also faced criticism due to many other reasons outside their age difference. Jason, 56, was sentenced to 189 months in Federal prison in September 2020 due to his role in multiple securities fraud schemes. One of the cases involved a nearly USD 60 million fraudulent municipal bonds scheme targeting Wakpamni Lake Community of the Oglala Sioux Tribe.
He had also worked with Hunter Biden at Burnham Financial Group between 2012 and 2015. Jason also testified before the House Oversight Committee in 2024. Eventually, President Donald Trump commuted his prison sentence in March 2025.
How did Savannah and Jason fall in love?
Savannah Chrisley shared that she met Jason through politics while she was working to secure the release of her parents. Todd and Julie Chrisley were serving prison sentences after bank fraud and tax evasion convictions. Savannah and Jason began to date in 2025.
Incidentally, Todd and Jason had served time at the same Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida. They were there between January and August 2023. Later, President Donald Trump pardoned Julie and Todd in May 2025. Recently, Savannah announced that she is expecting her first child with Jason in a video and shared a sonogram.
