Spider-Man: Brand New Day was officially released on July 31, 2026. Not even two months in, Sony has already announced that the movie will be re-released in the near future. The announcement comes as the movie continues to rule the box office across the globe.
Spider-Man Brand New Day has grossed a staggering $2.5 billion. Within just two months of its release, it climbed all the way up to the third position in the list of highest-grossing movies of all time, trailing just behind Avatar (2009) at $2.92 billion and Avengers: Endgame ($2.88 billion). Avengers Endgame: Encore, having been re-released in theatres, may end up closing the gap and reaching the top position very soon.
As of now, the release date for this re-release remains unknown. The information on what the extra footage would be, or help depict, is under wraps as well.
Theories are currently circulating around the prospective addition of Claire Temple in the mix. Her scene was previously cut and replaced with Punisher during the hospital sequence towards the end of the movie. There are also possibilities that the re-release would use the opportunity to further tie more events and create a more concreate bridge leading to the events that will transpire in Avengers: Doomsday.

The movie explores various bonds between Frank Castle, aka The Punisher (Jon Bernthal), Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man (Tom Holland), Bruce Banner, aka The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), and the newly introduced character in the MCU, Jean Grey (Sadie Sink).
