Hyderabad:The Hyderabad traffic police announced traffic diversions, alternate routes and special parking arrangements for the Sri Jagadamba Mahankali Golconda Bonalu celebrations on July 16, 19, 23 and 26. Restrictions will be in force from 6 am to 10 pm as large crowds of devotees are expected from Hyderabad and neighbouring districts.
Heavy congestion is expected on the Ramdevguda–Golconda Fort (via Makkai Darwaza), Langar Houz–Golconda Fort (via Fateh Darwaza), and Shikpet Nala/Seven Tombs–Golconda Fort (via Banjara Darwaza) routes.
Traffic from Narsingi, Sun City and Langar Houz towards Shaikpet, Film Nagar and Gachibowli via Golconda Fort will be diverted at Ramdevguda towards Langar Houz, Balika Bhavan and Nanalnagar. Vehicles from Film Nagar and Shaikpet via Banjara Darwaza and Makkai Darwaza will be diverted via Alijapur Road and Neknampur, while traffic from Moghal Ka Nala via Langar Houz and Fateh Darwaza will be diverted at Langar Houz crossroads towards Balika Bhavan and Nanalnagar.
Parking has been arranged at Ashoor Khana, Army Sentry Post and Artillery Centre (Makkai Darwaza); HUDA Park, Government Primary School and Owaisi Ground (Fateh Darwaza); and Hockey Ground, Owaisi Ground, Area Hospital Golconda and Deccan Park near Seven Tombs (Banjara Darwaza). Devotees have been advised to scan QR codes along the routes to locate the nearest parking area and park only at designated locations before proceeding on foot.
The traffic police urged commuters to avoid the affected routes, follow updates on its social media platforms and contact the traffic helpline 9010203626 in case of emergencies.
